Captain Rapp

Captain Rapp is one of the pioneers of West Coast hip hop, debuting in 1981 (see 1981 in music) with "Gigolo Rapp" (with Disco Daddy). The song was a minor hit in Rapp's native Los Angeles. After separating from Disco Daddy, Rapp released a socio-politically aware single, "Bad Times (I Can't Stand It)", another local hit and cult favorite. He did little recording for the rest of the 80s, though he returned with a sequel to "Bad Times" in 1992 (see 1992 in music), "Bad Times, Part 2: The Continuance".
