Beverley Hughes

Beverley Hughes (born 30 March 1950) is a British politician, and member of Parliament for Stretford and Urmston. She is a member of the ruling Labour Party and serves as Child Protection Minister at the Home Office.

She was first elected to Parliament in the 1997 election. She made headlines when she embarked on a media tour to condemn an episode of Brass Eye as 'unspeakably sick', but was later forced to admin she hadn't actually seen it.
