Bear Creek is a town located in Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska. As of the 2000 census, the population of the town is 1,748.

1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 110.8 km² (42.8 mi²). 108.5 km² (41.9 mi²) of it is land and 2.3 km² (0.9 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.08% water.


\nAs of the
census2 of 2000, there are 1,748 people, 686 households, and 432 families residing in the town. The population density is 16.1/km² (41.7/mi²). There are 806 housing units at an average density of 7.4/km² (19.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 80.32% White, 0.29% Black or African American, 11.61% Native American, 1.03% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, 1.03% from other races, and 5.61% from two or more races. 1.89% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 686 households out of which 36.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.6% are married couples living together, 8.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.0% are non-families. 26.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.55 and the average family size is 3.11. In the town the population is spread out with 28.4% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 33.7% from 25 to 44, 26.4% from 45 to 64, and 5.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 119.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 122.6 males. The median income for a household in the town is $53,800, and the median income for a family is $57,167. Males have a median income of $37,339 versus $24,938 for females.
