Be Incorporated

Be Incorporated is an operating systems company, headed by Jean-Louis Gassée, that developed the BeOS operating system and BeBox computer. It was founded in 1990 and its assets were bought by Palm, Inc in 2001, at which point the company entered dissolution. The company then initiated litigation againsts Microsoft, which was settled in September 2003 with a 23.2 Million US Dollar payout to Be, Inc.
