Avonmore is a borough located in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 820.

Demographics

census of 2000, there are 820 people, 344 households, and 234 families residing in the borough. The population density is 211.1/km² (547.9/mi²). There are 376 housing units at an average density of 96.8/km² (251.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough is 98.17% White, 1.22% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.37% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.12% from other races, and 0.12% from two or more races. 0.37% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 344 households out of which 26.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.4% are married couples living together, 8.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.7% are non-families. 30.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.35 and the average family size is 2.89. In the borough the population is spread out with 21.6% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 23.4% who are 65 years of age or older.
