Avondale is a town located in Pueblo County, Colorado. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 754.

1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 9.7 km² (3.8 mi²). 9.5 km² (3.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.13% water.


\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 754 people, 251 households, and 200 families residing in the town. The population density is 79.3/km² (205.2/mi²). There are 276 housing units at an average density of 29.0/km² (75.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 85.01% White, 0.13% African American, 4.11% Native American, 0.13% Asian, 0.13% Pacific Islander, 5.84% from other races, and 4.64% from two or more races. 64.06% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 251 households out of which 35.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.8% are married couples living together, 12.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.3% are non-families. 13.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.00 and the average family size is 3.31. In the town the population is spread out with 27.5% under the age of 18, 10.5% from 18 to 24, 22.5% from 25 to 44, 23.9% from 45 to 64, and 15.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 107.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 104.9 males. The median income for a household in the town is $33,229, and the median income for a family is $31,071. Males have a median income of $28,750 versus $24,750 for females.
