Artscroll

Artscroll is a line of translations, books and commentaries from an Orthodox Jewish perspective published by Mesorah Publications, Ltd., based in Brooklyn, New York.

Artscroll publishes books on a variety of Jewish subjects. They are probably best known for their translation of Siddur, the best-selling "The Artscroll Siddur", the line of Bible commentary works, and their hebrew-English translation of and commentary on the Babylonian Talmud.

This line of books hews to an historical Ultra-Orthodox Jewish perspective accepting midrashic accounts as fact, and ignoring or deriding much modern non-Ultra-Orthodox historical scholarship.

Artscroll has been criticized for editing its books to exclude views and incidents that do not fit in with current Ultra-Orthodox views.
