Amundsen

Amundsen is a Norwegian alternative rock band. The band formed in 2003, with members from various Norwegian underground groups: Kåre Christopher Vestrheim (Rhodes, mellotron, synthesizer, guitar), Hans Jørgen Støp (vocals, guitar), Georg Buljo (guitars), Thomas Thofte (bass), and Tom Rudi Torjussen (drums). All of them has played in many bands before: Everyone except from Torjussen in Locomotives, Vestrheim in Kiruna, Tofte in Kiruna and Everest, and Torjussen in Howlin' Pimp-o-Negros and Wholy Martin.

Amundsen released their debut album, "Amundsen", in 2003. They describe their music as "polar-rock" - natural paralels are Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, and Norwegian band Jim Stärk.

"Amundsen" can also refer to famous explorer Roald Amundsen.
