Amador Township is a township located in Chisago County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 744.

Geography

\nAccording to the
United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 79.2 km² (30.6 mi²). 77.5 km² (29.9 mi²) of it is land and 1.7 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.09% water.

Demographics

\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 744 people, 264 households, and 199 families residing in the township. The population density is 9.6/km² (24.9/mi²). There are 282 housing units at an average density of 3.6/km² (9.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 98.79% White, 0.27% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.27% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.40% from other races, and 0.27% from two or more races. 0.94% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 264 households out of which 34.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.0% are married couples living together, 3.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.6% are non-families. 15.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.82 and the average family size is 3.18. In the township the population is spread out with 29.0% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 117.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 114.6 males.
