Akron is a village located in Tuscola County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 461.

census2 of 2000, there are 461 people, 173 households, and 125 families residing in the village. The population density is 187.4/km² (483.5/mi²). There are 188 housing units at an average density of 76.4/km² (197.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 97.61% White, 0.00% African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.43% from other races, and 1.74% from two or more races. 6.07% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 173 households out of which 35.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.6% are married couples living together, 13.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.7% are non-families. 23.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.64 and the average family size is 3.06. In the village the population is spread out with 29.7% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 30.6% from 25 to 44, 18.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 85.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 82.0 males.
